Hey, it's Rebecca here with this week's 60 second blister tip.

Today I want to show you why I love silicone gel so much for blister prevention.

First of all, we've got toe caps that are closed in at the end, and we've got toe sleeves that are open on both ends.

The reason I love this material is there's so much give in it. Remember, blisters are caused by the skin stretching. So if you've got a material and all that stretching is going on within the material itself, then there'll be less of it happening to your skin - and that means less blisters.

Now, they're not without their downsides. There are two potential downsides that really could be deal breakers (maceration and their bulk). But, I've seen people wear them six days straight without any issue whatsoever in an ultramarathon. And, I've seen people want to get them off after half an hour.

But really guys, you need to consider this because this material is unbelievable. It's not great for every blister, but for most toe blisters, it is spot on. I love it. Give it a try and have one or two in your blister kits.
